Pakistani Hand-knotted Red-Ivory Bokhara Wool Hallway Floor Carpet Runner Rug (2'6 x 10')
Description
Product Description
Tribal bokhara rugs are made by nomads in Pakistan. The design of the rug originated in Turkmenistan. They are made on portable wooden looms typically with wool pulled from the tribe's sheep each year. They obtain their dyes naturally from local vegetables, flowers, tree bark, minerals, and insects. Graphs, or blueprints for the patterns, are used more often today but true masters create signature designs and color combinations showing their skill.
