Waterford Crystal Lismore Small Clock

This captivatingly beautiful 4-1/2-inch-tall table clock is part of Waterford's Lismore series. Waterford has been making renowned crystal pieces for more than 200 years and has named many of its patterns after towns in Waterford and other neighboring counties. The Lismore design features repeating leaf motifs for a lively, natural look.

This gorgeous little clock blends architectural style with natural imagery. Its overall shape--a beveled, vertical rectangle--is softened by a small field of tiny wedge cuts blooming with elongated, vertical leaf cuts. The 1-3/4-inch round clock is inset above the leaf cuts, and a 16-rayed star, cut into the back of the crystal, peeks out from around the clock's edges. It indicates the time with slender black hour, minute, and second hands and black Roman numerals in a bold typeface. Other matching display pieces in the Lismore series include picture frames, vases, and candlesticks.

To preserve the clarity of crystal and to avoid scratches, do not wash in the dishwasher; harsh detergent and excessive heat could permanently etch surface of glass. Wash with a mild liquid soap in warm (not hot) water. Certain water may leave a lime or mineral deposit on the crystal; if that happens, vinegar on a soft, nonabrasive cloth will help remove the deposit. Rinse with warm water and polish with a lint-free cloth. Edges and rims are delicate; do not store upside down or place upside down on a draining board. Crystal can focus sunlight into a concentrated beam that could potentially scorch rugs or furniture, so do not store or display in direct sunlight. The clock measures 3 by 4-1/2 inches and the clock face is 1-3/4 inches in diameter. One 375-type battery is included, as are instructions for activating the clock. --Garland Withers
